COVID-19 STUDENT LOAN UPDATE

The United States government has stepped in to assist borrowers with their Student Loans during these trying times. Congress passed The CARES Act declaring a national emergency. We are here to keep you abreast of the situation as it evolves. Many things have changed- some have not. Please remember that the provisions made at this time are TEMPORARY and the Federal Student Loan landscape is ALWAYS changing.

The United States Department of Education has:

1.

TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED ALL Federal Student Loan PAYMENTS effective March 13, 2020 through

December 31, 2022.

2.

TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED ALL Federal Student Loan INTEREST effective March 13, 2020 until December 31, 2022.

3.

ALL Federal Student Loan payments made are applied to accrued interest first and then principle effective March 13, 2020 until December 31, 2022.
